    We're looking at 40 teams this year. If we can get more certified rib judges and our village allows us to use a portion of the street, we may be able to go to 50. Thanks for your support! Very much appreciated!

  4. 20 teams in less than two weeks is truly amazing. We value everyones' support! I sent in an application to judge Westmont's Red, White & BBQ. A great event. If I'm not selected to judge, I will cook it. See y'all there!

  6. hey porky joes. what other bbq comps do u know of that are local? cant make st charles but dont see anything else. yorkville is too far and frankfort hasnt posted. see ya at westmont

  7. There is Libertyville at Lamb's Farm in October.
    The best thing to do is check out KCBS under events. I'm pondering going to Kenosha, WI for the Grill Games.

  8. kenosha looks more fun. westmont was awful last year with the rain i hope the weather is better. need to sharpen skills. came in a lousy 22nd there. cya

  12. Agreed. If we were able to locate more certified bbq judges we could accept 50 teams as I believe we will have the room this year. But finding the judges is not easy. If anyone knows of any certified judges that may want to judge our contest, please have them email me at gebackyardbbq@gmail.com or call me at 630-890-0465. Thanks!

    1. told you would be full by westmont. keep at 40. more manageable. you were quite busy last year. even your lovely wife could not speng much time with us. lets keep haveing fun and the fund raising will take care of itself. thanks again for the hard work you do.

  14. Thank you for your support. We're down to three spots. We'll be full by the end of this month! And we just picked up another sponsor. We're still in need bags players though...If any friends and family are coming, have them register!
